Day 1

Arrival at Port Elizabeth Airport. Take over of rental car.Depending on the arrival time, you can drive to the Addo National Elephant Park, where you can see elephant, Cape buffalo, black rhino and antelope. Drive to Port Elizabeth.

Day 2

In the morning drive along the N2 Nationalroad past the Tsitsikamma Forest and Plettenberg Bay to Knysna, one of the Garden Route's most popular resorts. The Knysna lagoon is guarded by two sandstone cliffs known as The Heads. There are spectacular views from the Eastern Head. The town is known for its beer and oysters. In the afternoon you can go on boat-cruise on the lagoon.

Day 3

After breakfast depart for Oudtshoorn, the ostrich capital. Visit one of the ostrich farms where you can go on a tour learning all about these birds. For lunch taste some ostrich meat. In the afternoon visit the famous Cango Caves and visit a leopard- and crocodile farm. Drive to Mossel Bay.

Day 4

In the morning you can visit the Old Post Office Tree and the Diaz Museum before driving to Arniston, an attractive fishing village, very popular among artists because of its fishermen's cottages, turquoise seas and undulating white sand dunes. Not too far is also Cape L'Agulhas, the southernmost tip of Africa. The lighthouse is the 2nd oldest in South Africa.

Day 5

After breakfast and perhaps a long walk on the beach, drive to Stellenbosch. Stellenbosch is the 2nd oldest town in South Africa and one of the most attractive. Visit some of the wine estates for a cellar tour and winetastings.

Day 6

Drive to Paarl and visit the language museum, from where you have a wonderful view. Afterwards drive to Cape Town, South Africa's 'Mother City'. With its majestic Table Mountain backdrop, Cape Town is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. A harmonious blend of architectural styles reflects the tastes and dictates of the past - and today's more functional requirements. Narrow cobblestone streets and the strongly Islamic ambience of the Bo-Kaap enhance the cosmopolitan ambience of the city. In the late afternoon visit the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront.

Day 7

Day at leisure.
Suggestion: Early morning visit the Table Mountain (ascent - weather permitting) and afterwards drive to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve.

Day 8

The morning is at leisure. Drive to Cape Town airport. Handing in of rental car. Departure.
